Everything is not awesome

Everything is not awesome. If you call a job “awesome,” will it fill faster?

Who doesn’t want an awesome job? Apparently most people, unless you live in Dallas or Salt Lake City — those are the only two cities that Textio could find where job posts with the word “awesome” fill faster than normal. And it looks like recruiters in those cities may have found an awesome sweet spot! In cities like San Francisco and New York City, where the word shows up in job posts at 4 times the average rate, “awesome” jobs fill slower. But that’s also true for cities where the word is hardly used at all, like Anchorage and Honolulu. Sometimes being average — or in this case, just below average — is a good thing!
